Thank you for voting for NNCG in the Consumer Facing Social Enterprise Category 2022 in the Annual Social Enterprise delivered by Social Enterprise NI.
On Friday on 14th October 2022, we joined over 600 individuals from the private, public and social sector at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast, with the fantastic Social Enterprise NI to honour and celebrate the achievements of the social economy sector in Northern Ireland.
This was the 10th Anniversary of the awards, ironically it’s also Naturally North Coast and Glens 10th year Birthday!
Brege and Seamus Stanley attended the awards night, both long term committed members of NNCG and Brege has served on the voluntary committee for many years
The evening brought a strong sense of hope and togetherness as well as a reminder of how important the sector is to Northern Ireland and beyond. Economy Minister Gordon Lyons thanked the sector for their contribution:
“I am pleased to be associated with Social Enterprise NI’s Awards which recognises both the sector's achievements and resilience. I welcome and value the impact social enterprises have on the recovery and growth of the Northern Ireland economy, now and in the future”
Speaking about the success of the event, Colin Jess, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise NI said:
“The Social Enterprise NI Awards is a time to take a moment to recognise, commend, and promote the individuals and businesses creating positive change and social impact within Northern Ireland. I believe we achieved just that at our celebratory event last week. We now continue our work to support and represent social enterprises to ensure their voice is heard at all levels of business and with decision makers all year round.”
Naturally North Coast and Glens was shortlisted from entrants and the finalists faced a public vote. Thank you to everyone that voted for us - We were delighted and shocked to find out that we won.
This is a fantastic morale boost for our team, and our traders. Making a difference in the community is what we are here to do, whether that is supporting small and start-up businesses through the delivery of successful markets, supporting them and helping them get the best from their trading experience at markets, or bringing activity and life back to our highstreets and towns, bringing the community together at a time when social interaction is so important.
