 🎉As 2023 draws to a close we would like to thank everyone for their support this year and wish you all a Happy New Year.


🌍 In 2023 we delivered 40 artisan markets. The locations included Ballycastle, Cushendall, Cushendun, Dungiven, Portstewart, Ballymoney, Limavady, Glenarm Castle, Coleraine, Benone, Bushmills.


🌟 We hosted markets at some fantastic events including:

  • The Ballymoney Spring Fair

  • The Glenarm Castle Tulip Festival and Camp Dal Fest

  • The Big Arts Weekend in Cushendun

  • The Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival

  • The Heart of the Glens Festival

  • The Old Lammas Fair

  • The Salmon & Whiskey Festival

  • The Dungiven Fleadh

  • The Flowerfield Halloween Event and Christmas Market Launch

  • The Ballymoney Lights Switch On

  • Independent markets in Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Benone, Cushendall, and The Roe Valley Speciality Market in Limavady.


🙌 This was all made possible by our fantastic dedicated team of staff; Richard, Eoin, Pete, Linda, Jamie, Nigel, Conor, Oisin, Conleth, and Chris, our voluntary board and advisory group, volunteers, members, our traders, everyone that visits or promotes the markets. Everyone that provided behind the scenes support and advice, with a mention to the various departments and teams within Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for their continued support throughout the year, including the events team, visitor servicing team, business engagement and development team, estates teams, Environmental Health, and others.

🏆 Our Achievements in 2023 included:

  • Our market was awarded the NABMA Great British Market Awards: UK Best Small Speciality Market 2023

  • Winner in the Social Enterprise NI awards, for the Best Consumer Facing Social Enterprise 2023 (and shortlisted for Emerging Leader Category and Outstanding Team – Staff & Volunteers)

  • Seasons of the Glens was awarded Best Small Producer 2023 in the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards

  • Devils Churn Caramel Sauce Range was successful in a number of foodie awards: with Gold & Silver at the Blas na hEaireann Irish Food Awards, 5 Stars at the Great Taste Awards, and Bronze in both the Irish Quality food and drink awards, and the UK quality Food and Drink Awards.


🤝 Developments included:

  • Enhanced partnership with the Visitor Servicing team in CCGBC.

  • Guild of Fine Food Membership for Seasons of the Glens.

  • Hosted 7 social enterprises at markets thanks to Social Enterprise NI

  • Supported 80 small businesses through Artisan Market Online and Seasons of the Glens Fine Food Boutique.

  • Hosted 220 small businesses at markets and accommodated 1642 trading pitches in total.

  • Assisted 196 businesses in becoming JAM Card Aware & Friendly Businesses since 2022

  • Upheld our REAL DEAL Charter, ensuring that our markets align with Trading Standards.
